Vintage Thanks for PP82

For this card I "case'd" myself : )  I saw the challenge over at The Paper Player's this week and knew I had to do something for it.  I LOVE this colour combination....Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.  For a template I copied a card that I did for my monthly class last week.

I had fun with lots of Sale-a-bration product for this card.  First the card I did for the challenge:

I've had this piece of Embossed (with Vintage Wallpaper TEF) Very Vanilla cardstock around since Christmas and finally found a use for it in this card.  It, along with all the other pieces of cardstock and Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB 2012), was sponged with Soft Suede ink to age it a little.

I really like the little medallion in the "Fresh Vintage" set (SAB 2012).  I stamped in Pool Party and hand cut the medallion and then layered it on top of a Poppy Parade flower from the Triple Layer Blossom Punch.  This little medallion is all tied together with a Vintage brad, Chantilly lace and Calypso Coral organza ribbon (from SAB 2012).

To frame the sentiment I embossed an image from the "Elementary Elegance" set (SAB 2012).  Here's a look at the card I did for my class:

So Sweet for Monkey Challenge 95

I was asked to be a guest designer for this week's A la Card Monkey Challenge #95....so sweet!  And that was this week's theme.  With Valentine's Day this week the challenge is to create a "sweet" Valentine card.  Although I've been consuming candy at an alarming rate in the past week I don't own any candy stamps so I went with a "sweet" image and used my "Gnome Sweet Gnome" set.  Take a look:

Aren't they sweet!?
I had seen some fellow demonstrators use these stamps in a similar way on the Stampin' Up demonstrator forum.  I thought it was really cute and replicated it for this card.  I stamped the gnomes first with Basic Black ink and then used my Blender Pens to "watercolour"  the images.   I had fun using my Hearts Framelits to create the hearts and then used my Blushing Bride Smooch Spritz to sparkle up the little heart.  And, while you can't see it here, the bottom strip of Twitterpated DSP has been embossing using the Adorning Accents Textured Embossing Folder (hearts).

Here are the rest of the details:

Stamp Sets:  Gnome Sweet Gnome

Paper:  Twitterpated DSP (Occasions Mini), Island Indigo, Pear Pizazz, Whisper White

Inks:  Island Indigo, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Pear Pizazz, Basic Black

Big Shot:  Hearts Framelits,  Adorning Accents Textured Embossing Folder

Embellishments:  Pear Pizazz Pleated Satin Ribbon (Occasions Mini), Island Indigo Baker's Twine (Occasions Mini), Blushing Bride Smooch Spritz

Be sure to check out A la Card Monkey this week and the other examples.  I've also added this to Shirley's Look at My Cute Stuff Valentine's Blog Hop....check it out:

Happy Day for Monkey Challenge 94

I've been wanting to use this stamp, "Packed for Birthday" since I got it and this week's A la Card Monkey Challenge was a perfect excuse to use it. I've got a few friends with birthdays coming up in the next week so I'm also glad to have a template to work from.

Here's the card (be sure to check out the sketch at A la Card Monkey)

Packed for Birthday

I saw Tammy use this stamp and highlight part of it and I really liked the idea.  To colour the pinata I used blender pens for the Old Olive and Poppy Parade inks and a So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker.  I decided to make the pinata a "button " by covering it with Crystal Effects (although the picture does not do it justice).

Pinata "button"
Here are the rest of the details:

Paper:  So Saffron CS, Old Olive CS, Poppy Parade CS, Pocket Full of Posies DSP, Whisper White CS

LOVE for Monkey Challenge 93

Well, I'm cutting it close again for this week's A la Card Monkey Challenge #93.  Honestly, this card has been in pieces on my desk all week but I just haven't had the energy to get it done in the evenings.  Yay for 3rd trimester insomnia!!!  I finally got a full night's sleep last night and was able to get this finished today : )

Here it is:

LOVE for Monkey 93
It's no secret that I'm a big fan of sparkly paper and the Dazzling Details glitter that Stampin' Up puts out.  So I jump at any chance to use them and I pulled out all the stops here : )  I'm thrilled that the silver sparkle paper is carrying over from the Holiday Mini so I knew right away that I wanted to use a combination of the red and silver sparkle papers for the pennants (using the Pennants Punch).  Here is a closer look:

Sparkly Banner
I used Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon and glue dots for the bows in the corners.  The letters come from the "Occasions Alphabet" stamp set.  I coloured them selectively before punching them out with the 1/2" circle punch.   I also took this chance to lots of products from the new Occasions Mini catalogue.  I used my Hearts Framelits and the hearts from the Adorning Accents Textured Embossing Folder to highlight the cute image from "Take it to Heart".  I added "apples" on the trees using the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.

Ain't they sweet?!
Finally, for the inside I went back to the Occasions Alphabet set and framed it with Basic Black (Curly Label Punch) and Silver Sparkle paper (Decorative Label Punch).
An inside look
I've also added this card to Shirley's, "Look at My Cute Stuff" blog hop....be sure to check out the other cool projects.

Please contact me if you have any questions about any of the products I've used in this card.

Simple Rainbow Cards #2

As I was cleaning up my stamping desk and moving things around some left over DSP scraps caught my eye.  I love the combination of the colo...
