Gorgeous Grunge Birthday

I had a great time last night running a workshop for my former upline.  She has a great group of friends who love to craft together.  Because she is no longer running her own Make and Takes they hadn't been together in a while.  We had a blast reconnecting and stamping!  I shared the first project, the Starburst masking technique, in my previous post (click here to see it).  This is the second card that we did at last night's workshop:

Have I mentioned that I love Stampin' Up's "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set?  Well I do!  I find it so versatile.  Stay tuned in the coming days for how to use it for Christmas Cards!

While I made this card using the Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip side of the "Sweater Weather" DSP,  I used the other side of the DSP last night and used a Soft Sky background.  It looks great either way!

The sentiment comes from the "Express Yourself" hostess set.  I really like the font of this set and it has many different sentiments which makes it a great set to have on hand.  Contact me to learn how you can earn this set.

Festive Starburst

I am doing a workshop tonight for my former upline.  I always feel a little bit of pressure doing workshops for her and her friends because she was the one who taught me : )  She wanted me to teach a new technique and I've been seeing the "Starburst" technique lately and wanted to show that off.  One of the great things about being a Stampin' Up demonstrator is the bi-monthly "Stampin' Success" magazine that is exclusively for demonstrators.  This month's came just in time for my friend's workshop.  I saw a really cool version of the "Starburst" technique using masking and just HAD to use it for her workshop.  Here it is:

I'm SO pleased with the result and I hope it goes over well at tonight's workshop!  I really like Stampin' Up's "Festive Flurry" stamp set and am LOVING the new "Endless Wishes" Photopolymer Stamp set!  If you've never used photopolymer stamps I would recommend starting with this one!  There are so many sentiments on it and because you can see right through the stamps it makes it so simple to align everything perfectly!!!

Getting my Pink On for DD#72

Today's card is a relatively simple, yet (in my opinion) stunning one.   I'm a big fan of the mono-chromatic look and the colours from this week's  Dynamic Duos "Get Your Pink On"  challenge; Primrose Petals and Blushing Bride; work really well together.

I used my "Simply Sketched" stamp set for this one along with some Staz-On jet black ink and my blender pens.  Originally I was only going to use Primrose Petals and Whisper White card stock but felt something was missing so added in the Basic Black and it just made the whole card "pop".

Here's what you need to make this card:

Stamp Sets:  "Simply Sketched".....it's a hostess set, so contact me to learn how to get it and extra hostess dollars this month!

Ink:  Staz-On jet black ink, Primrose Petals, Blushing Bride

Card Stock:  Primrose Petals, Basic Black, Whisper White

Other:  Blender Pens, Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Oval Punch

Sweater Weather for PP 165

Today was one of those days that, for me, brings back so many fond memories of autumns past.  The sun was shining, it was about 25C, there was a light breeze and the leaves are beginning to turn.  Gorgeous!  I love this time of year!

Stampin' Up's new DSP, "Sweater Weather", captures the colours and "feel" of the season as much as paper can : )  I know I've said it before, but just looking at the paper makes me think of cozy sweaters with big buttons, making soup, going for walks and kicking the fallen leaves and really just enjoying everything that autumn offers.

I just had to share this paper with my monthly Make and Take friends so I created a card using The Paper Players Challenge 165 "Tic Tac Toe" board.    I chose the left, vertical line: "Ribbon, Patterned Paper, Birthday".  Check it out:

I'm so happy with the result here.  The colours on the tree remind of the ash trees on my street which are bright yellow right now.  I also like it because I think that this card could be given to a man or woman....sweet!

Here are all the details:

Stamp Sets:  Serene Silhouettes, Banner Greetings (Hostess set)

Ink and Card Stock:  Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip

Other:  Sweater Weather DSP, Burlap Ribbon, Labels Collection Framelits
