"Saying goodbye..."

"...going away.  Seems like goodbye is such a hard thing to say."  (The Muppets Take Manhattan).   That's the first thing that came to mind when I was thinking of a title for this post : )

I'm always disappointed when the retired stamp list comes out from Stampin' Up!  This year many of my favourite stamps sets (in fact, most of my stamp sets) are being retired.  So, the next few posts, will feature some of these sets.

Today's post features "For All you Do".  I got this set when I became a demonstrator as part of my kit.  I used it for my first few classes and workshops, so I am particularly attached to this set.  Here's what I came up with last night:

For All you Do...thanks

Really quite a simple card to put together.  I love this colour combination and wish that I had "discovered" Poppy Parade before a couple of months ago!  It just didn't "grab" me right away but now I don't want it to go!!!

Here are the details:

Stamp sets:  "For All You Do", "Pocket Silhouettes"  (both retiring sets)

Ink:  Poppy Parade (retiring), Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze

Paper:  Poppy Parade, Whisper White and Baja Breeze card stock

Accessories, etc:  Perfect Polka Dots Textured Embossing Folder, Poppy Parade 1/2" Stiched Poly-Ribbon (retiring), Silver Brads

Happy Stamping!

Going, going, gone...

Just a quick post tonight.  I've been working on getting Thank You cards made over the last few days and I'd like to share one with you.  I "cased" this one from Dawn (a fellow demonstrator).

I like the monochromatic look of this card and it was pretty simple to do.  Here are the particulars:

Stamp sets:  All Packed for Baby (Occasions Mini), Many Thanks

Cardstock:  Calypso Coral and Whisper White

Ink:  Calypso Coral

Accessories:  Calypso Coral ribbon (SAB 2012)

On another note, be sure to check out Stampin' Up's Retired Lists on my webiste (click here).  As SU transitions to a new catalogue format MANY items are being discontinued and some are discounted up to 70%!  The lists are long and there are some surprises on there....but don't worry the ink pads are being reconfigured and you will still be able to get your favourite colours...whew!

Happy Stamping!!!

Birth Announcement

Finally, I've made it back into my stamping space to finish something.  I realise that it's been a couple of months since my last post and I've finally regained some motivation after taking a brief leave of absence.  The trouble now is that every time I want to sit down to finish something my 3 week old daughter starts to cry : )

Anyhow, I've finished the template for her birth announcement and I wanted to share it.  I have not included any details or a photo as I prefer not to have those details out for general "consumption".  I'm happy to share them individually if you are interested.

I had completed a template announcement for a boy before her birth because I had convinced myself that I was going to have another son....but much to my delight, I have my girl....Yay!

Here it is:

I chose to do an "easel" card....the photo will go on the front and the information will go on the "inside" of the card.  I'm using My Digital Studio to print off the details...I love that the colours match perfectly with the card stock when I use MDS!!!   I cut out a little foot from the "Baby Prints" stamp set to use to hold the card open.

Here are the details:

Stamp Sets:  Baby Prints (Occasions Mini)

Papers:  Blushing Bride, Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Nursery Suite DSP, Pear Pizazz

Inks:  Blushing Bride, Perfect Plum

Punches/Big Shot:  2 3/8" Scallop Circle, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Circles #2 Bigz die

Other:  Perfect Plum 3/8" taffeta ribbon

Happy Stamping!

Simple Rainbow Cards #2

As I was cleaning up my stamping desk and moving things around some left over DSP scraps caught my eye.  I love the combination of the colo...
