Fall Birthday for PP171

While preparing for a workshop I am running tomorrow I wandered over to The Paper Player's weekly card challenge.  This week's challenge is a colour theme using Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip and Tangerine Tango.  LOVE it!!!

These colours fit perfectly with Stampin' Up's "Sweater Weather" DSP, which, if you've been following me this fall, you know that I LOVE!!!!  It just makes me want to curl up with my comfy sweater and a cup of hot apple cider...yum!

My hostess specifically asked for me to prepare a birthday card for her guests to make.  Here's the card I came up with using those colours.

I used a technique that I call "thumping" to create the look on the stamp from the "Chalk Talk" stamp set and then had fun with the "Chalk Talk" framelits.  I trimmed the edges of the burlap ribbon to "distress" a little and then used the scraps to add embellishment near the sentiment.

Happy Stamping!

  1. Very pretty sketch, and a great way to use that beautiful paper, as well as the Chalk Talk image! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Paper Players this week! BTW, you still have word verification turned on, which makes it challenging for us to comment....let me know if you need to know how to disable it!

    1. Thanks, Leanne! And thank you for alerting me to the word verification item. I thought I had it turned off (indeed, I did turn it off at one point) but clearly I needed to double check that! It should be fixed now : )
